• In the first episode the Lasser Glass from Oculus (2013) can be seen on the wall of Hill House while Nell (Victoria Pedretti) is dancing through it. Both Oculus (2013) and The Haunting of Hill House (2018) are directed by Mike Flanagan.

• Russ Tamblyn, who appears as Nell’s therapist in The Haunting of Hill House: The Bent-Neck Lady (2018), played Luke Sanderson in The Haunting (1963), the original adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s novel. Furthermore, his character’s name in the series is Dr. Montague, named after Dr. John Montague, a main character in Shirley Jackson’s novel.
